Embracing Change

I often joke that if I had considered the definition of "calamity," I might have named my first business something like "Smooth Sailing" or "All is Well Coffee." At almost every turn, our journey has been a true comedy of errors, but as Deepak Chopra wisely puts it, "all great changes are preceded by chaos." Time and time again, I am reminded that just when things seem to be falling apart, a necessary transformation occurs and something truly amazing emerges. Change can be challenging, but it's also essential. If you step into Calamity's, you'll notice that our merchandise is always revolving, our menu is constantly evolving, and the shop layout is based on customer feedback. Building a community-focused space means listening to you and being open to making adjustments along the way.

As we approach our one-year anniversary, we are filled with a sense of enthusiasm and anticipation. Our journey so far has been incredible, and it’s thrilling to think about what lies ahead. We're delighted to announce that there will be a host of changes coming your way. The biggest changes are in the works, but here are a few things you can look forward to:

  • Celebrating success and growth, some of our vendors, have decided to embark on new ventures. Their stories of progress and determination are truly inspiring, and although we will miss admiring their work, we support their dreams and look forward to seeing their continued success. In light of their departure, this provides an opportunity for us to welcome fresh ideas. A few new vendors will be joining us, each one ready to showcase their unique crafts and products.

  • We are also putting considerable effort into creating a new menu, one that promises to be easier to read and more user-friendly. You KNOW it's going to have some DELICIOUS new drinks!

Thank you for being a part of our story thus far, and we eagerly look forward to sharing the next chapter with you. Keep your eyes peeled for these exciting changes, and join us in celebrating a future full of change. As I think back on the story of Calamity’s, I realize, the name is perfect. If we listen to Chopra, we grow and thrive thanks to calamity. Here’s to throwing smooth sailing to the wind, and enjoying the fullness of life!
